Starting your own football club/team

Morning all

Does anyone have any experience of starting their own football club/team with an already existing team, so would be a case of leaving the current club and going solo?

TIA

Who would you play?

We would register with the league and play other teams in that league

Ah OK thanks, is there a community noticeboard either a physical one or online? To see if there is interest

Good luck anyway

I'm not sure. We have a team already, just looking to move away from the current club and be independent, was just looking for other people's experiences of doing similar.

Thanks

The FA will give you all sorts of guidelines and help as to how to do it.

I think more often people just move the team to another club. Then you get all the infrastructure and support that comes from being part of a club. Is there a reason you wouldn’t do this?

We have lots of information from the FA, was just looking for some personal experiences if any @CointreauVersial

That is an option @Qwertyfudge but given the less than pleasant experience the parents and kids have had with the current club, the majority want to go it alone.

Sorry, OP - was involved in football club committees for several years, but never actually experienced starting a club. But I did find the FA very supportive and helpful, which is why I mentioned it. The leagues less so....

Oh really?? The FA have been great, it's a lot of information to take on I must admit.

It's easy enough to do but you'll need more / lots of hours. You'll have to be every role. And organise everything eg pitches, affiliation, safeguarding etc.
parents should be volunteering to do these roles if they want to go solo.
A club with one team still has to collect subs, do all the admin, look after the kids
