How much are after school activity clubs (independent providers)

My DS's school have just sent an email with a list of available clubs from September and the price really ranges between provider so I wanted to know what other people pay. The clubs are run at the school but by independent/ external providers and last an hour (not wraparound care). They range from £6 per session - £9.50 per session and are paid for the term upfront or on a payment plan (only offered by the more expensive provider).

I don't want to only choose based on the price but I'm not sure what a good price is.

What do you pay for this type of club?

We're based in Swanscombe, Kent

Our school has dance, gymnastics and football after school clubs run at the school by external teachers. They’re the same price as the craft club which is run by teachers, £5 per session, paid upfront for the next term.

I pay £6 a session for ballet after school. I’d pay more if it was something my child really wanted to do, and have been led by that when choosing. I think they range from £6-£8 at our school. £9.50 sounds quite steep but depends what it is for.

It totally depends, my Dc are older but the range was:
Football from an academy £3-5 ish for an hour
Chess £1 for 90 mins
Judo £4 I think 90 mins
Horse riding £12 for 30 mins
Ballet £2:50 for 40 minutes
Art £ 6 for an hour but included materials

Sounds about right depending on what they are for. We're up North. Ours are paid for per half term, usually 6 sessions of one hour. They are sometimes free if run by teachers, such as Lego club, they are around £20 for clubs with resources like arts and crafts, and £35 for externally run ones like yoga and gymnastics. I figure it all balances out as my kids interests change each term so sometimes we pay more, sometimes less, but it's a convenient way for them to try new things without any extra travel costs for us, also a bit of childcare.
