Trinity Speech & Drama

I did speech and drama as an after school club as a kid. I particularly loved the speech lessons and did Trinity exams. DD's primary school doesn't do anything like that. I have looked into it and it all seems to be more drama type classes around e.g. Perform, Stagecoach etc. I was hoping for something a bit more on the speech, rather than the drama. Does such a thing exist? We are in east London. Thanks.

look for LAMDA lessons. they are split into 2 sections, so first the kids work on the speech part, do the exam and then move onto acting, do the exam and start the cycle again. you can get one to one lessons at your home, from a tutor like rosie who is based in east london.

Most Stagecoach schools offer Lamda or Trinity exams as an extra add on to their group classes. Some dance schools do as well. It sounds like you would be looking for the Verse & Prose syllabus (the acting syllabus is more popular though)

Some secondary schools (and some primary) also offer them on a peripatetic basis either 1:1 or in small groups of 2-3. You pay for them in the same wasy as piano or violin lesssons. A lot of schools don't like the disruption it causes though and some parents won't pay for it.

You wold probably be better looking for a private teacher.
