Dd is still 3 and half. But I was looking for some drama /singing / dance schools for her to attend once a week to see if she enjoys them once she turns 4 in a few months.
Anyone dc attending?
Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

Have you chosen that one because it is very local to you?

To be honest, at that age it is all about fun, so the best thing would be to find a reasonably priced one close to where you live, and ask if she can go to a trial session. Not much point in paying for her to go to one of the most expensive schools in the country just yet.

It’s very near my parents house and they will be able to take her when I’m not able to. Otherwise I would have taken her nearer to our home.
They do do trial sessions which I will be taking her to of course. But knowing dd she will love it.
I was surprised that their prices are exactly the same as our local drama / dance schools.

Oh well, in that case, go for it. I'm not in London so perhaps the other schools round where you are match the SY prices as they are all competing with one another for custom.

There are plenty of other theatre/drama /dance classes ( franchises and local ones) to choose from but if SY is most convenient then try it.

happyclutterchucker, I think you may be confusing Sylvia Young with vocational boarding schools such as Tring Park or Hurtwood House (both of which do have eye-wateringly expensive fees).

Fees for part-time classes at SY are on a par with most other London performing arts classes, and fees for the full-time school are cheaper than most London independent day schools.

OP, the part-time classes at SY are good but not exceptional. If the location is convenient it's a good option to try, but if it would involve a long journey I'd look for more local classes, especially for such a young child.

TheatreTaxi no confusion, my dc was in vocational dance training for some years and spent quite a lot of time at Tring, funnily enough.
I was looking at the fees for the age 4+ group at SY in comparison with local part-time recreational theatre schools where we live (which is not London).

happyclutterchucker, we're London-based and unfortunately the sort of fees charged by SY part-time school are pretty unremarkable for inner London, even for 4-year-olds. I have a DC who's trained part-time with various London performing arts schools (but not SY as it happens), and the SY fees listed on their website are definitely not the most expensive I've come across.
