Looking to start a bit more crafting with the kids. Aside from keeping yoghurt pots and loo roll, what supplies am I going to need? I'd like to be able to say, ok, mr maker did that yesterday, we can do it.... without having to scavenge around for all the bits....

So far I have:

Pipe cleaners
Black card
Colored stickers
Eye stickers
Craft scissors

Go!

It depends so much on what sort of things you want to make. Here is a basic list which should give you a range of possible activities.
paper, white and coloured
Scissors
glue, gluesticks work well on paper/card, pva for other materials. Glue spreaders, (lolly sticks also work for glue)
pens, pencils, crayons, paint (acrylic paint works on plastic and wood as well as paper) paint brushes
Newspaper to cover working surface or cheap plastic table cloth
Fabric scraps and oddments of wool
Sequins and stick on jewels are nice.

Hope that helps

Things to save:
Foil and coloured clear plastic chocolate wrappers. Good excuse to eat Quality Streets and Ferraro Roche!
Milk bottle tops
Foil pie cases
Lolly pop sticks

We made these glass jar lanterns yesterday. Can't wait to try them out, but the kids go to bed before it's fully dark!

These people are also good if you want to buy stuff and often do smaller packs than Baker Ross www.craftycrocodiles.co.uk/
