Swimming-ASA or Swimming squad

Hi..
Dd 7 is in stage 7 Swimming and her current swim teacher asked her to go for trial at the local club, for which she did and got a probationary place. She will need to do 2 sessions of Swimming a week. She will have to leave her current ASA Swimming school without completing her 10 stages.

Does the ASA stages hold any value for her her in the future( incase if she wants a part time swimming teacher job)? Or with her secondary/ university admission?

Which is regarded higher being the squad or completing her stages first? Thanks!

To be a lifesaver or a teacher as a part time job she'll need a specific qualification: the prerequisite for either of these is to be a strong swimmer. They can test this easily, so ASA qualifications are not a prerequisite usually. A good swim club will offer her just as much (and probably more) than a regular swimming lesson.

Completing the ASA stages won’t provide anything extra if your DD takes to swim training. She should progress faster with a squad as there will be more training hours and she will learn the same skills plus additional specific race and training skills as the upper ASA levels.

As she gets older (7 really is very young to be worrying about these things) there should be opportunities to volunteer (or even get paid) to assist with local swim schools, or to train as a teacher, coach or lifeguard at age 16.

I doubt whether uni cares about ASA stages - team working, time management skills, volunteering / working in a responsible position might worth a mention though.
