Any views of "Perform"

My DD does a bit of dancing and singing and really enjoys performing. She wants to add in drama and due to time etc. I was wondering about changing to Perform so she could do all three together without us having to juggle the different classes. She not particularly brilliant at any of them, but enjoys them, and I think it would be valuable to develop her confidence in an "all round" class. Does anyone know anything about "Perform" - seems cheaper and a bit less intense than Stagecoach? I presume it's a francise so might vary by area - we'd be Romsey or Winchester.
Thanks for any advice.

Meant say she's 10 so it will be the older version

I think all of those chains are franchises, so the individual schools will depend on the principal and the teachers employed there. My DS does Stagecoach and has a very driven, delightful, dynamic principal who has employed a great team. The kids enjoy the sessions and a good number get parts in productions both locally and in the West End. To be honest the local competitors (Theatretrain, Perform etc) seem a bit rubbish by comparison. BUT in another area the reverse might well be true. I would enquire and ask if your DD can do a trial session before committing - 3 hours should tell her whether this is something she would enjoy or not. Maybe suss out the competition too!

Thanks for that - we're really not looking for roles in the West End - more fun and confidence building. We'd also struggle to justify paying Stagecoach prices (although Perform isn't cheap either to be honest!).

biscuits 3 hours??

OP - Perform isn't a stage school. DS1 goes and absolutely adores it. They work on self confidence, speaking, social skills - as well as the dancing and singing with the show at the end of each term.

He is enjoying it hugely and we have seen him blossom since he started going.

They will let you do a trial session before you sign up.

I mentioned 3 hours because OP mentioned wanting her DD to do dance, drama and singing in one place. At Stagecoach a weekly session lasts 3 hours - one hour of each. It feels expensive because of the quantity of time spent there, but if you compare the hourly rate with other activities it isn't actually more expensive - just a lot to part with in one go! We are really lucky because it's my DS' great passion and my Mum pays for it.

Ah ok, 3 hours seems like a lot - I guess it's a weekend thing then?

My daughter used to do Stagecoach & it does feel expensive compared to her 45 min ballet class.

But then she added tap, modern, contemporary etc & we ended up paying more per hour. Dance still felt cheaper because we paid in 4 10 week blocks wheras Stagecoach was 3 12 week blocks.

Thanks all - I think DD probably more suited to the less intense approach of perform at the moment. Will look into it and try to get a free class set up.

RIP OFF ALERT. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO AUTO ENROLMENT. Perform takes the money months in advance and then keeps a £50 cancellation penalty fee when you cancel, regardless of notice. I'm a lawyer and that's illegal under the consumer codes. Anyone else notice this?
