Ballet dilemma

Hi
my DD1 is 7 and has been doing ballet/tap/modern since she was 3.
I would say that only this year she has started to love it, as she was coached for her Grade 1 in all 3 and has really progressed quite a lot.

As the coaching is now finished, she has been asking whether it would be possible to do some more ballet rather than reverting back to the 45 minutes a week. I have asked the teachers and one of them agreed to do private lessons as a way forward. However this seems to have ruffled a few feathers, including those of her current teacher, so this arrangement is not working out.

What to do next? I feel I have created an issue for my otherwise very happy DD1, all she wants to do is improve her technique but it seems we have put ourselves in a really awkward situation...

(The reason why she is having private lessons with another teacher is because her normal teacher didn't have availability).

What to do?

Which exam board is her school part of. it might be an idea to look for some sort of associate/other organisation based programme rather than have private lessons.

For example the RAD run various workshops and associayte classes in Birmingham. Then you have some of the schools like Tring, Hammond, Elmhurst and RBS who run associate programmes or summer schools.

At dd's ballet school she is unusual in that she only does one class per week, the reason is that the other class clashes with her drama which is her main talent.

Dd's teacher has some students who want to audition for vocational programmes and they are allowed to take class with lowere grades to refine their technique as well as join in their own Grade class.

Wherabouts in the country are you?

Hi we are in the north of England and my DD is doing RAD for ballet (ITSD for tap and modern). I did think about a JA but was under the impression that due to the competitive nature of these you had to be "recommended" for it and that it was a bit presumptious to ask?

Auditions are held for the JAs but anyone can apply. Do some investigations, definitely worth considering. Couldn't she take the next grade class too? This is what my DS does. He takes his core class plus the next one up on the recommendation of his teacher.
