Do you 'display' your DC's music/drama certificates?

The DSs have done various exams in LAMDA/ ABRSM music etc and I'd llike them to feel proud of their achievements. However all their certificates are in a big envelope at the moment .

I'd quite like to frame the highest grades, but then what? Where would I put them? In their bedrooms? In the kids'/ family TV room? In the downstairs loo?

What do you do with yours? Are they proudly on show? Where?

music exams are pinned on ds's pinboard in his room. Of course I'm proud, but I don't need them in the living room

We have our kids certificates on the living room wall. Apart from being proud parents it does serve to motivate the kids when they get praise from visitors.

Umm certificates in a folder, trophies in the cabinet in the hall; but we have a problem:

She has more at 14 than DH has at 59, they have overflowed and are in a box on top of the cupboard

Music certificates are framed and propped up in a haphazard fashion on the piano.

Yes - I think on the living room wall would be a bit too much for us too. We don't have a piano/music room, but perhaps could put the highest graded of each in a frame in the 'snug'/study room...

I keep a ring binder of all the random ditty, kind of noteworthy or magnificent certificates they've achieved, all together, just in reverse date order, Dc love to look back thru the binder (like a scrapbook, really).

I guess I'd frame something stupendous, like Grade 8 music.

DD does have 5000m swimming but that's going in the notebook, too.

That's exactly what we do, Whippet. Piano teacher was suprised we weren't displaying them, but I didn't want them in the living room. So they are in the study/music/clutter room. The DCs love adding each new certificate to them and they aren't too obvious!

Display them entirely as you wish. They are your children's achievements.

DD2 has stuck he ballet one to her bedroom wall, not sure what DD1 did with her last singing one. The others are either neatly filed or lost. DD has a distinction for theatre dance I put in a safe place.

You'll soon run out of space! With 3 teens, I just keep them in folders. We must have 60 or so music and dance certificates.
If I were a better mother, I'd have the most recent one for each child in each discipline/instrument framed on the wall in the sitting room

Dd has rosettes on a sort of washing line in her room in the traditional pony girl manner, and if one of them gets a particularly good trophy then it sits on the dining table for a week or so then gets chucked into a box. Apart from that they all get chucked into a box.

Awkward for all concerned if they are on display- visitors feel obliged to comment, through gritted teeth if their children haven't achieved as well or concealed amusement if they have, visiting children either feel inadequate or triumphant and the children concerned either want to shrivel up with embarrassment or simper with false modesty.

music certs went into a frame with the most recent on top, so just one frame, which went on the piano (one of the music teachers instructed us to do this). However we fairly soon decided it was a bit tacky & it was relegated to a filing cupboard (so might as well have been a folder rather than a frame).

Trophies, cups etc. (we seem to get rather a lot, but generallly not for anything special) get shoved on the top of the dresser, which isn't too much in line of sight to be remarked on. I do choose a nicely sized cup (chosen for its size and aesthetic qualities rather than the worthiness of the achievement) to put on the mantlepiece to keep my keys in and get a bit miffed when they are all either too big or small.

I display endless variations of artwork, all over the place, and I have got dd1's "Trophy for Creativity" on display at the moment, together with dd2's "Attended Geography quiz" certificate, because it was lying around next to the blue tack.

If the dc had their way we would be framing every "Walk to school", "Attended swimming lessons", "Went on school trip" certificate, and they get a lot of these.

All neatly filed in a boxfile labelled "Certificates" in our house! Along with births, marriage, academic ones, etc. We have enough clutter without putting them up.

They go on the fridge for a while, so that we can all show off be proud. Then they go into a box file - one for each child, with certificates etc.

With 3 dcs, 2 of whom now in their teens, I'd have run out of wall space years ago if I tried to display certificates!

My DD doesn't do music or drama - but she does compete at gymnastics.

When she has taken a grade / done a competition then the certificate sits on the bookcase in the living room for a week or so. Then it is put in her folder. She has a big, leather expensive looking folder which keeps all her certificates - gym competitions, ballet exams, school achievements and any other clippings from newspapers and the like.

She's only 8, but already I'd have too many to actually stick up, Although she has got some that are dubious to say the least .

Memory boxes for ours that they keep in their bedrooms. I have 5 daughters who do some or all of music, several types of dance, drama, gymnastics, singing, swimming and tennis so it would get more than a bit ridiculous to display them! They usually put trophies in their rooms, we might display special ones downstairs for a bit. I do display a lot of photos though.

Music & ballet certificates are in an envelope. I wouldn't want them on display. Football trophies are in their rooms.
