Any singing teachers/voice coaches around?

Ds1 (10) is proving a puzzle to his singing teacher - she says she's never come across a child like him. His singing voice is very strong in the highest ranges but weak and breathy from middle C down. It's almost as if he has two completely different voices depending on where he's singing.
His speaking voice is high and breathy.

Does anyone have any ideas we could try to help strenbgthen his lower notes?

I knew someone who had a very nice high voice, and a lovely lower voice, but there was a range of notes in the middle she could not sing at all. She thought it was due to asthma, which she had quite badly. She had, at one point been able to sing them, but lost the ability after having pneumonia. Was a bit strange really.

Dh is a vocal coach and is trained in a method called Estill Voice Training and he also specialises in vocal rehabilitation. What you describe does not sound too uncommon it will probably be something to do with the position of his larynx and thickness of his vocal folds.

Dh is also a counter tenor and in the early part of his training/career had a weak lower register.

What does your ds's voice sound like when he says uh-oh (usually that is usuing thick voval folds folds)

Ds is away at the moment (he teaches in a vocational college 2 days a week but I will email him.)

"It sounds like the student is using stiff vocal folds which is at it's weakest about middle C although I obviously I haven't heard the student and 10 is very young. There is a strategy but not one that I am able to give over the internet."
