Getting a German work Visa with no degree?

I think this is pie-in-the-sky post Brexit, but has anyone been granted one? I'd like to work in Germany, but I don't have a university education which I think rules me out for consideration? I read something vague about 'unless you have extensive experience in your field'. I mean, I'm a nanny, and have been for 15 years, so I'd call that fairly extensive, but I'm not sure that's what they're driving at. I haven't got any money so can't be paying huge 'Please let me in' fees. I was born out there but my parents are British and moved back to England when I was a baby so that doesn't help me at all does it? It would be good to hear from anyone who's been in a similar position, whatever the outcome.

What about starting with a student visa for a degree in Germany (pedagogy seems quite popular and in demand) and babysitting on the side? You'd need c1 german for that. Or you could get a visa to do an apprenticeship in something like care with b1 German. But in both cases I think you need a certain amount of cash in a blocked account...
