So, a majority voted for Brexit- you must think we will benefit in some way. What can I look forward to being better?

Fewer foreigners taking our jobs.
Fewer jobs.
Fewer trade deals.
Fewer boring news items from Europe.
More funny news interviews with people who have been made redundant, but voted leave 'and don't get why they've lost their job.' That's hilarious. I saw one with my Union Jack tiring cousin once.

The80sweregreat · 01/02/2020 16:31

House prices may crash which might give the young a chance of buying something. (We live in Essex and prices for property are ridiculous)
I did hear that san pro costs might decrease. (Believe that when I see it)
Can't think of anything else.
For trade deals that is something for the government to deal with this year. I'm not convinced it'll go well. I'm hoping jobs are protected at least a bit, but who knows? Nobody knows anything at the moment.
It's the unknown.

MaxNormal · 01/02/2020 16:36

You won't unless you're wealthy enough to want to tax dodge.

FreakStar · 01/02/2020 16:56

So, so far those leavers are all silent! Thought as much! Not thought of one way my life will be better yet!

Loads more Indian restaurants

Now that we won't recruit from Europe as much a lot of our jobs will be filled by the Indian subcontinent - the Nhs have already been out to recruit

Hopefully this will bring plenty of people from India and Bangladesh into England

Fewer foreigners taking our jobs.

I have never ever had a GP who didn't have an accent. Not once. Or a dentist until recently. Or vet.

I mean I suppose if people don't like healthcare, this is a plus. Darwin Award/survival of the fittest type thing.

TheGreatWave · 01/02/2020 18:02

In material terms very unlikely.

But it is about feelings, therefore a Leaver is better off, because they feel that this is the right path. So for them it is beneficial, everything else will be a mere blip in the road.

Patchworksack · 01/02/2020 18:04

You won't be.

BecauseReasons · 01/02/2020 18:06

Free capital letters for all!

Villanomme · 01/02/2020 18:06

I'm here to to read what Leavers put.

Over three years I've waited to hear a reasoned argument why Brexit was a good idea.

I'd like to hear from a normal, down to Earth, not earning a huge salary Leaver, what their view is and what we will gain?

PortiaCastis · 01/02/2020 18:08

Farage is out of a job and may STFU

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/02/2020 18:17

Portia for the win.

Villanomme · 01/02/2020 18:19

Portia we can hope but that slimy little weasel will survive... I think.

Mockers2020Vision · 01/02/2020 18:21

Blue passports and an ungrammatical 50p coin which, if you save it, could in the future be worth as much as 50p.

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/02/2020 18:25

could in the future be worth as much as 50p.

But not worth as much in relation to everyone else's money.

ListeningQuietly · 01/02/2020 18:27

House prices and rents will stop rising

Wages in certain very poorly paid sectors will rise

sadly those will be offset by significant downsides

Jellykat · 01/02/2020 18:31

I've been waiting years to find out the answer to this.. but relying on the internet for the answer, as i dont actually know any leavers, everyone around me is flummoxed and depressed.
I await with baited breath..

Funkycats · 01/02/2020 18:35

People will have to stop blaming 'unelected bureaucrats in Brussels' for everything

PortiaCastis · 01/02/2020 18:38

Ah yes blue passports Fabrique en France
Will they be subject to tariffs

DillBaby · 01/02/2020 18:41

House prices may crash which might give the young a chance of buying something
Prices are irrelevant. Do you think everyone is going to go “oh prices have dropped I must sell for less”? No. As long as they can still afford the mortgage they’ll just sit tight and wait for prices to go back up. The only ones who will sell for a low price are those who have no choice because they’ve lost their jobs and their house gets repossessed. And if enough people are in that situation there’ll be bigger problems than house prices. We don’t want huge swathes of people homeless and in negative equity, banks repossessing houses left right and centre, then needing to be bailed out because people have defaulted on their debts. And the young still won’t be able to buy because they’ll have lost their jobs like the homeowners have.

There are literally no positives of Brexit. Maybe we can repeal a few stupid EU laws that’s all. Most of the things people wanted Brexit to achieve won’t happen.

jasjas1973 · 01/02/2020 18:42

People will have to stop blaming 'unelected bureaucrats in Brussels' for everything

Even Gove said that this was lazy politics, he then went onto say "EU rules have prevented innovation but now the UK can innovate and feed the world...."

Naga listened gobsmacked at this sentence!

So there you have it... we Remainers were all wrong, Brexit will solve world hunger.
Rejoice and become innovators!!!!!

rslsys · 01/02/2020 18:43

Well the NHS should be £350 Million better off by the end of next week, and every week thereafter . . . .

frumpety · 01/02/2020 18:44

So there are a number of answers to this question to leavers

  1. 'we' have told you a squillion times how every single person in the UK is going to better off tangibly, so we are not going to waste our breath and repeat them.
  2. Nobody has a crystal ball so cannot say for certain what the future will bring/ benefits will be felt in 50 years plus if there are any
  3. It doesn't matter if there are any tangible benefits because it was about sovereignty/ national pride/feelings and other non tangible benefits such as a momentary feeling of smugness.
  4. You are a bully/stalker/troll for even suggesting asking the question

Have I missed any ?

The80sweregreat · 01/02/2020 18:46

People might start to actually blame the government for things now and want other things to be sorted out! ( Boris isn't the man for this , but they will at least start to realise how hopeless the Tories really are and worse still , do not care)
Maybe the scales might fall from their eyes a bit. Not holding my breath.
