No deal and the Irish border

So, as I understand it, leaving the customs union needs a hard border between UK and EU , which would include the border between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland, unless a deal can be reached to manage that border differently.

Presumably, if we leave with no deal, that hard border is automatically created. However, neither Ireland nor the UK want a border there, so who would put it there/enforce it?

They are both lying when they say they won't put up a border. The WTO requires you to have control over your economic area. Both the EU and the UK will need to do this. It doesn't have to be border posts but it has to be something. Which means infrastructure. Which breaks GFA.

If the DUP agree the deal at least no deal is averted. If they force a no deal they should be the ones footing the bill. No deal is the worst of all worlds.

They could violate WTO & wait for someone to bring a dispute to WTO about not controlling their borders or violating WTO rules about tariff collection, etc. Then... how long would that dispute take to get a ruling on? Years, maybe.

And negotiate fabulous trade deals how exactly?
