Help me understand ...?

This thread my sound absolutely incredibly dim but when it comes to politics I really don't have a clue,

I understand Boris Johnson is wanting to extend the time he has before brexit happens (so he has more time to make a deal?) and if he doesn't get this there is going to be an election,

A few people I have spoken to have said they will vote Johnson... to get this all over with

But with all the shite I've read about him I'd be inclined to go another way, but then again, I've read a lot of shite about Corbyn too😂

Who would you vote for if it came to an election and why? I really don't have a clue!

BJ does not want more time. He wants to leave on Oct 31, "Do or Die."

If BJ gets No Deal, by whatever means, it is not "all over with." It has only just begun, because No Deal is not a thing. Leave with no deal means leave then seek a deal. And we need a deal. A structural readjustment to our economy to exporting mainly to places as far awa as possible, even if desirable, will take decades.

Just think of the pain caused by the structural adjustments of Thatcherism that saw one-third of manufacturing in this country shut down. The lost generations and wasted lives, whilst a few did very nicely thank you.

The only thing certain to happen after no deal is that the anguish will be extended longer then any other outcome (deal or revoke). the UK will be in a weaker position and will have to start the negotiations asap to get a deal (EU will prob want what was in the WA to just come to the table). The EU will become a perfect bogey man for the Torres for decades to come, and alas, the EU will indeed be an adversarial power, at least in theory. The EU will work for the member states, not the UK. I assume this is why the Tories want to leave - so they can create a narrative of having an enemy at the door and make the population of the UK endure worse quality of life but convinced that it's worth it to kick the enemy. The only outcome that will take Brexit out the news daily is a pro remain landslide and revoke. I expect the news agenda would move on in around 2-3 months. Clearly there would be a lot of unresolved shite to deal with. With a deal, I reckon the U.K. Relationship with the EU will be the main election theme (and therefore the main domestic news agenda) for 3 election cycles, so around 15 years. (Or maybe 6 years at this rate😂) now... back to my knitting rant over

Not having a pop, it is totally baffling and it's practically a full time job just to keep up with the news. It's exhausting

Look at the Reality Check section on the BBC news website and listen to the Brexitcast podcasts on BBC sounds.
