No. Because getting a buffer of food in now isn't stockpiling. Nor will it cause shortages to buy something when supply system is still fully functioning.
Panic buying because you are an idiot and haven't been sensible enough to get extra slowly and well in advance may cause shortages when supply is properly disrupted by No Deal.

Peppers here have been giving advice for many, many months about putting together a bit of a buffer on a low budget.

They get a lot of goading and abuse for it, interestingly.

As a family we decided last year to plant more of the things that could be frozen. We also got a largish greenhouse so we can grow some fresh stuff over winter. So in one respect, I guess we are stockpiling (freezers full to bursting and more pickled stuff than you can shake a stick at) but not to the detriment of anyone else.

We are lucky to have allotments, but have worked very hard to ensure a good yield.

Not all of us who stockpile are selfish fuckers. Some of us just plan ahead

Nothing is 'dawning on me' I'm not stupid nor am I pro Brexit. I'm hearing a lot of low income families very worried due to being told there will be food shortages. Those who plan way ahead and buy and extra something each shop fine, I meant the panic buyers not the preppers apologies!

It's true that those on the lowest incomes can't prep, and also that they will be most impacted by Brexit ( in a negative way). Prepping by those who can isn't selfish though. It will ease the burden on food shortages when they happen if anything as those people won't have to panic buy or queue up for rations ( initially anyway) making it easier for everyone else. I understand it's scary, but it's not the preppers fault that everyone can't or won't be more prepared. None of us should be in this mess and we should help each other out, not point fingers.
