Is Scotland ready for Brexit?

I don't hear much from Scottish politicians (maybe not looking at the right media).
What's the general consensus there?
Are they prepped for it?

Scotland did an impact assessment on a no deal Brexit back in 2016, that's why they have been saying no so stridently.
Most of the media seem to have forgotten they've already done this so it's seldom mentioned at all.

This link has links to some of the impact assessments for different Brexit scenarios at the bottom: www.gov.scot/brexit/

So they're quietly prepared I suppose you could say.

I know Glasgow City Council has made detailed plans - I was at a meeting over 6 months ago when the leader Susan Aitken was talking about their preparations. I recall her saying it would be tough and that the economic impact on the city would be significant but that they'd made practical plans for things like school meals (iirc, she said things like choice would have to be sacrificed. I think she also mentioned something ably nutritional standards - but I can't remember of that was that they would be maintained or if they would have to be reduced).

It was actually only peripheral to the purpose of the meeting, which had a different main speaker. This came up in the Q&As.

Well, we’re prepared to fight dirty to win a second independence referendum, and then leave the UK and rejoin the EU Smile

I get the impression that England is in a state of denial that it's actually happening. And happening with a worst case scenario too. Don't hear much from Scotland. Maybe they're biding their time for a new indy ref.

At least up here we know that it's possible we could have other options. Although it's far from clear that we would get back into the EU and there would be diificult issues and uncertainties around that.. But yes, a sense of biding time to see exactly what happens. No more or less prepared than the rest of you though. I think we are still in shock!

Maybe that's why they're not as much in a kerfuffle. They know they have an 'out'.

It will be interesting in 30 years time (if I'm still alive and kicking) to see what the history books state about Brexit.

Scotland should be allowed to have a further referendum when the material change occurs. Until Brexit happens there is no material change.

Although it's far from clear that we would get back into the EU and there would be difficult issues and uncertainties around that

I would agree.

Scotland would have to apply as a new member of the EU as opposed to rejoin. Remember UK is a single member in the eyes of the EU as opposed to four individual members.
