This is the front and back of a double sided flyer I made yesterday. I wanted to cover topics not on the standard Lib Dem leaflet (that's the only remain one I've seen). If you agree with the sentiments please consider printing some copies / sharing online!

And a more detailed post on these subjects I made during the referendum in case it's of interest:

Are you for or against Brexit?

Thank you for doing this. As BlueJag suggests, it could do with a short sentence saying that the Lib Dems particularly would wish to remain a member of the EU.

Thanks, here's an alternative version...

I know I am being picky and I admire your effort which is sorely needed.
On the basis that the official LibDem position IS to remain the sentence that says it needs to stand out far more as you have it 'buried' in other text. It needs to SHOUT LibDem want to remain. A sentence on it's own line different font size and colour probably.
I have had years of my OH criticising what I write.
What you said in the first paragraph about why the WA is likely to fail for it's 4th time is sort of correct but to explain it properly would make it too long and 'boring' for a flyer.
It makes the signing of the WA seem optional, whereas the EU (who have ultimate control of this process) are insisting it will be signed. It is also not really a 'deal' as such. We have discussed this many times on the Westminsterenders threads.
Maybe have a bit more of a look, verify that Remain is the official LibDem line and post it on the Westminsterenders thread.

Thanks. It's tricky to fit everything in. Please could you suggest some concise wording? I want to keep the 2nd and 3rd bullet points in some form about the next phase / future relationship negotiation and no deal (I'm OK with assuming a minimal background knowledge on the part of the reader).

Perhaps...

"Theresa May's EU withdrawal agreement makes us rule takers without a seat at the table and puts a regulatory border between the UK and Northern Ireland. It is set to be rejected for a 4th time by Parliament and there is no alternative on offer."

2nd bullet point amended to..
"Even if it passes in some form, the next phase will take years blah blah blah"

I'll also add in a banner that the lib dems want to remain.

I guess since that applies to the backstop even that needs tweaking. I'll try something simpler.

I think, reduce the size of the photo of Brussels. Pull out the 'fact' that LibDem want to remain from the text in the orange and put it in bold and ??? colour and have that in a line above the orange 'box'.
The front of this needs to scream 'vote LibDem to remain' even if none of the rest is read.
The reverse side needs to have the Blue 'election banner' and repeat the line that LibDem is remain, so that if it is picked up 'the wrong way' the message shouts first. Whatever you put must be truthful and simple.

1tisILeClerc · 19/05/2019 13:15

It is awkward as the WA is only applicable (with the UK being rule takers) while the UK is in transition, so it is time limited, and following the PD will 'expire' leaving the UK with whatever is decided during transition.
With a no deal, it is nearly the same but a lot messier as the WA will have to be signed before the EU enters and negotiations.
Trouble is you can't put all that on your leaflet because everyone will nod off! (The root of the problem).

Good advice, thanks. Here's the new version

I'll post on the other forum a bit later. I'll have to leave it at that today probably as it's so time consuming - graphics programs a bit of a nightmare for beginners!

You need the 'Liberal Democrats say STOP BREXIT' on the second side and you have no LibDem logo anywhere, should appear both sides possibly on the line about stop Brexit.

Photosythesis · 19/05/2019 14:41

It's not an official Lib dem leaflet so I'm pushing it a bit already I feel and don't really need the logo. That's why I mentioned the Greens and Change UK too. Though votes for the others are not helpful for seats due to the voting system (as warned at the bottom), at least it alerts readers to other options since I see many can't bring themselves to vote lib dem due to tuition fees and so on, so they can at least add to the pro EU percentage. In that sense it wasn't intended as a "pure" lib dem leaflet. I like the back side having a non party political tone since the other purpose of my leaflet is to encourage people to rethink their attitude to Brexit if they are for it. Anyway, thanks again. I'll post it on the other place now...
