I've booked to go on holiday to the Far East on 3rd April next year. Whats the chances everything will be ok??

Also, (unrelated) my mortgage fix rate ends in April 2019, I'll be looking to try and fix again. Should I try to do it sooner??

It's my job to predict these things, as much as anyone can.

My current bet is that there will be a partial exit deal - enough to keep planes flying and travel insurance working, but not well thought through enough to avoid fucking the economy.

So, enjoy the holiday, but fix your mortgage first!

I think that's sensible advice ^

If you're booking transport to the airport, plan to get there a bit earlier than you would have done otherwise.

I've buggered myself by booking my flight a day later than I thought. So I'm flying the 30th. Eek. Glad to hear we should be fine.

The technical note from government as to the impact on the aviation industry of a no deal is due to be published this week so hopefully we’ll know more then.

@NotPennysBoat @MrsTerryPratchett

This topic is already discussed on another thread:

The legal position is clear - No Deal / no Withdrawal Agreement = no Open Skies = no flights until everything is sorted out.

The pragmatic / optimistic view is that 'something will be sorted out'

MrsTerryPratchett · 25/09/2018 17:31

Now I'm worried again. Surely foreign nationals can't be indefinitely unable to leave the UK. That would be really problematic wouldn't it?

1tisILeClerc · 25/09/2018 17:38

Not indefinitely.
Heathrow Airport management have placed their bets on less than 2 months to sort it out, if it needs sorting.
