This board ?

Am I alone in wondering why this board still exists when Brexit threads are popping up elsewhere ?

Or (alternatively) why, if this board exists, aren't threads about Brexit moved into here ?

IIRC directly after the referendum numerous Brexit threads appeared on AIBU/Chat to the dismay of some MN'ters who didn't want to hear about the issue. Hence everything got shifted to here.

I assume now that Brexit is becoming very real nobody is able to bury their heads in the sand.

That's my recollection too ... so why does this board still exist if Brexit threads are now allowed elsewhere ? Or if this boards existence is till to hide collect Brexit threads, then why aren't threads started elsewhere moved to here ?

Just seems to be more dishonesty confusion around the matter ?

I suppose with the AIBU threads at least different posters comment. I'm still somewhat dismayed by the number of posters who still peddle the now debunked slogans and believe the country will still be better off.

I'm just thinking there should be some consistency ?

it might help some posters too - like the poster currently clearly worried about their status in Germany on AIBU.

That said, posters here need to remember that there's a non-trivial proportion of people who think Brexit happened 2 years ago. If Brexit threads start appearing elsewhere, it might generate a bit more "oomph" as my DM would have said.

They don't ever seem to remove new subforums even when they are dead.

It would make sense to combine the referendum and politics forums as the latter is on life-support due to past trolling.

Although Brexit isn't the 'be all and end all' it should have rather more prominence than 'do these shoes look OK'? Especially so since following a successful 'crash out' no one will be able to afford new shoes and only the very expensive ones are made in Britain.
When Brexit really kicks in it can have threads about how to make a grain of rice feed four etc. (Sorry the failure to see the biggest foul up since the second world war seems just incredible, like all those unicorns dancing on my lawn right now).
Maybe MNHQ could rationalise things a bit?

I suppose the Brexit stuff should be sidelined as some contributors are men.

It's important that issues that affect everyone, like impending food shortages, be discussed where a larger audience is likely to see them. Not hidden away on the referendum board. Most people have no idea what is going on.
