I am rubbish at sport, making friends, not good at all that girly small talk, art, anything involving fixing things. I have friends who can do all that stuff.
What I was good at at school was learning, I enjoyed critical thinking, understanding complex problems. Also worked hard. State educated. So I did well, passed loads of exams and ended up in a professional job.
Not everyone is book smart, studied to a higher level. So when I suggest that I might be 'more intelligent' than the majority of the population it is not because I think am better than most people who voted leave.
Why is that such an outrageous thing to say? To suggest that a proportion of leavers voted without understanding the issues is NOT calling them racist, xenophobes.
