Regret my vote 2

I don't seem to be able to post on the other thread. I guess it's full.

I heartily regret my vote to leave.

I've seen images and stories of xenophobia on the streets today. I'm appalled. I never voted because of immigration. I'm a Sicilian immigrant.

I despise Johnson and Farage. They are liars.

Write to your MP. Again and again, even if you don't get a good response. Write to everyone who might be interested. Make noise, stick up for what you now believe is the right way to go into the future. It's fine to start a thread or two but if you really believe you did the wrong thing, you need to actually do something to try and put it right. Same goes for anyone who believes they made a mistake.

You know that know one put a gun to her head at the polling station to vote leave. The main information you feel lied to about was in the open. It was in the news and papers. Margaret thatcher was brought up and how the deal she made the deal. Boris and his lot were questioned. Where were you? Only focussing on what was written on the side of the bus. Sorry but your argument is weak and I hope no one listens. Next time pay attention and ask questions before hand.

Kummerspeck · 26/06/2016 23:50

I'm sorry but I don't believe you. What bollocks, you are either attention seeking or pursuing some ulterior motive here. The first thread was bad enough but to launch another is just pathetic.

I didn't judge you for your initial post but I do judge you now. Pathetic

RosesareSublime · 26/06/2016 23:57

What an odd thread? It doesn't seem real I mean saying this 5 years on if things are not improving but what did you expect three days in?

sound very naive to me op

A4Document · 27/06/2016 00:36

I think there could well be remainers behind some of the "regret my leave vote" comments on the internet and in media appearances.

BMW6 · 27/06/2016 01:08

Of course it is Remainers! Only an utter fool would be taken in by this asinine piss-poor attempt at propaganda!

Laughable. Like all those fake signatories on the "give us another crack at it" petition.

And these are supposed to be the more intelligent of the voting demographic Hmm

LuisCarol · 27/06/2016 02:13

Sorry if you have regrets, but with a majority of 1 million +, that's not in any way meaningful. A less than 4 % majority is firmly in error margin territory and not in any way meaningful, either way.

Just5minswithDacre · 27/06/2016 03:13

What are you hoping to gain from a second thread OP?

The continued public self-flagellation looks more rather than less suspect and it's not really achieving anything other than giving angry people a place to pointlessly berate you.

JE678 · 27/06/2016 03:22

Stop being so nasty. The OP has said she has had a change of heart. Yes, she shouldn't have voted without researching the facts but it is done now and the lying Leave brigade carry a huge amount of the blame. OP keep making your voice heard, write to your MP, join the action groups, the more people who realise they have been lied to the better.

Just5minswithDacre · 27/06/2016 03:24

I'm more concerned that she's being nasty to herself JE.

She's just inviting more and more abuse.

Well look at it this way, things will be very different in 5 years time. No one knows what will happen but political crisis always seem worse in the days and weeks that follow, but rarely turn out as bad as predicted. 2016 has bought two political upheavels to my doorstep, I'm a Brit in Brazil. After worrying over the outcome of the first one and now realising that once the initial hype dies down things start moving forwards, I feel that this one will go the same way.

I voted to remain and truely thought that would be the outcome. At first I was shocked and devestated. I appreciate that I'm not there to see the true magnitude of the aftermath but I do think people are making more of it than is necessary.
I feel the potential break up of Britain in now on the cards and that's very sad. But that was bound to happen. The last dregs of the empire will finally crumble and out of the ashes, hopefully a more up to date and less delusional England (and Wales) will emerge.
