....What happens now, please? What actually happens? Today? Next week?

Well with the pound plummeting and the oil going up I hope they don't plan any foreign holiday or drive cars.

dynevoran · 24/06/2016 05:41

They should have to wear a badge and be accountable for this mess. This isn't my mess. I know i need to fight hate with love but all i feel right now is hate.

Batteriesallgone · 24/06/2016 05:43

This is pretty urgent for me as I'm moving house. What do we think will happen to house prices? Will they plummet? I'm terrified I'm going to move and end up with negative equity locked into a high rate mortgage (2yr fixed)

helpbuyingahouse · 24/06/2016 05:44

Batteries, here too. We were supposed to exchange today or early next week. What to do?

AbelMancwitch · 24/06/2016 05:46

If I hear another person use the words "take back control" today I won't be accountable for my actions. Angry WTAF. Never thought I'd see the day I wanted Cameron to stay.

Salene · 24/06/2016 05:49

Nothing happens today nothing happens next week

It will be years before anything happens so relax people.

And the oil price has fallen overnight with the result not increased.

Figgygal · 24/06/2016 05:49

Us too on the moving front....were meant to exchange today we are going to have to pull out aren't we??

WaitrosePigeon · 24/06/2016 05:50

Hopefully the house prices will plummet, yes. So the generation rent will finally have a chance.

AppleMagic · 24/06/2016 05:53

Hope generation rent won't need a mortgage then.

bkgirl · 24/06/2016 05:53

What happens? The country just won back it's democracy.
We will go forward as a democratic nation. Once again.
I am so relieved like at least 52% of the voters.

WaitrosePigeon · 24/06/2016 05:54

Of course they will need a mortgage.

They have a much better chance of being able to buy now, though.

sofato5miles · 24/06/2016 05:55

Oil price falling is not a positive

sofato5miles · 24/06/2016 05:56

I am so upset that we are planning to leave the uk.

NickNacks · 24/06/2016 05:56

Generation rent? No we never had a chance at getting or ever needing a mortgage anyway, it was always moving further and further out of our grasp regardless. But as long as you don't lose any equity then we should be grateful! Hmm

OddBoots · 24/06/2016 05:57

"Hopefully the house prices will plummet, yes. So the generation rent will finally have a chance." If our house prices crash and our currency value falls greatly compared to the rest of the work then it would be a great time for those overseas to invest in UK property. There could be a lot of international landlords.

Eve · 24/06/2016 05:58

.... You do have a grasp of basic economics?

House prices plummet? So all those with mortgages find themselves in negative equity, can't move, so the housing market stagnates, no building as no one can afford to move, so no new houses to buy, coupled with less jobs in the sector, less spare income so less money being spent ..... And so on.

sofato5miles · 24/06/2016 05:59

Fuck house prices plummeting. Why is there such an obsession with owning???

OddBoots · 24/06/2016 05:59

'rest of the work' should say 'rest of the world'

hazelisours · 24/06/2016 06:00

What happens now? An initial shock on the markets will continue to react to development. The markets always recover once decisions and firm detailed plans are made. Our outward looking democratic nation will begin negotiations with our European partners regarding trade etc. Nothing happens immediately on that front! In a couple of years we will have a better picture.

NancyDecca · 24/06/2016 06:18

Today, tomorrow, next week, the sky will not fall in.However, I think the view of what would happen if we left the EU was a good deal hazier than if we stayed in. So I am guessing we now enter a protracted period of uncertainty, including economic uncertainty whilst we renegotiate trade / legal etc etc agreements. I cannot pretend I see this as a good thing. Clearly more people than me did.

smallfox1980 · 24/06/2016 06:22

Falling house prices are not good for first time buyers in his case. Mortgages will. Become harder to get.

peppatax · 24/06/2016 06:26

It's likely that other Western European countries will call their own referendum and in a few years it could be an end to the European Union as we know it anyway.... For those asking if reasons people voted leave, I did... UK originally joined the Common Market which is not a bad thing, Common Market becomes European superstate - bad thing. It's not about an overriding hatred of migration, laws, control etc. it's just evolved beyond past what we originally signed up to.

Dollius01 · 24/06/2016 06:27

This is David Cameron's fault completely. He glibly announced this fucking ridiculous referendum as a vote winner. What next? A referendum on bringing back capital punishment?

And people who currently do or have bought properties in the last few years are now financially fucked.
