eill Cameron hold on till this deal comes from EU.
Or will boris just throw it back anyhow in the name of 'freedom'?😕

Surely Boris doesn't actually believe in Brexit anyway??? (this is what I'm hoping....)

Girlgonewild · 24/06/2016 06:06

We have 2 years under art. 50 to leave.
For today just get on with life and the country will have to try to work together again. I am disappointed.
John Major as ever was correct. He didn't even want us to have the Scottish referendum. We have Parliaments for a reason as they tend to make better decisions.
My area was almost 10% in favour of remain.

Hassled · 24/06/2016 06:07

The stock market is going to plummet - there go the pension funds.

TheVeryHungryPreggo · 24/06/2016 06:08

Am in the same situation as Figgy and I've shed a few tears this morning too.

I predict our buyer will pull out in the coming week - but that's ok, because we can't buy a house and pay all that stamp duty now when DH is likely to lose his job in the next 6 months. I work part time, I have two small children not yet school age and can't support a family on my wage.

We had a future here. Schools lined up, a house to move into and DH was doing well at work and my career post-kids was finally getting started. Now we don't.

sparechange · 24/06/2016 06:10

No, sorry. There is no way it will be ok
They've fucked us royally. And also fucked the world. The oil price has collapsed again. The Japanese have had to close their markets to stop it tanking. The FTSE is going to be a blood bath today and for the foreseeable so anyone with a pension is fucked
The pound has fallen to a historic low
SinnFein and the SNP have already called for independence referendums

Anyone else feeling really In Control right now?

Brokenbiscuit · 24/06/2016 06:11

It's very, very worrying. I did not really think that it would come to this.

I am quite angry tbh. Obvious, we have to accept the result, but I'm not sure if the UK is the kind of country where I want to live any more.

Fuck.

Brokenbiscuit · 24/06/2016 06:13

Anyone else feeling really In Control right now?

Ha, the irony! I can only hope that the leave voters now get what they bloody deserve.

whattheeeeeeeee · 24/06/2016 06:14

I'm just really scared about what will happen to the NHS... surely with the Tories in charge they'll just start selling it off (more than before) immediately... But maybe it will be okay if Labour get elected?

He won't and this time I don't think the EU will get us to do a second referendum.
Juncker came clean because he wanted rid of us.

Freshprincess · 24/06/2016 06:22

Our biggest supplier is an American company. Our costs have rocketed overnight.

Yep, I'm worried.

TrappedNerve · 24/06/2016 06:22

Being a bit dim here, so it's true that the changes won't happen for two years or is it that we have the option to remain for two years or are we governed by law to stay until 2018?

I'm gutted.

TrappedNerve · 24/06/2016 06:25

Oh when I spoke to exdp yesterday he said he was voting out.
When I questioned him about the effect on the health service etc he said " everyone can just get health insurance "Confused
Like that's going to happen. Look at America, that's what worries me.

Bookaboo · 24/06/2016 06:49

I'd like to see that outcome too pretty

clarinsgirl · 24/06/2016 06:58

I don't believe for a minute that Boris is actually pro Brexit. I think several of the prominent leave campaigners simply have another agenda. Boris wants No 10. Thing is, he now has to deal with the consequences so I have a teeny tiny hope that maybe a deal will be struck.

I blame Cameron. We should never have a had a referendum, whatever the result it was going to divide the country and cause economic uncertainty.

TheVeryHungryPreggo · 24/06/2016 07:01

Trapped I think the wording is something like - if Article 50 exit process is invoked on X date then all existing agreements must be wound up within 24 months of that date.

All trade, legislative, travel, tax, reciprocal guarantees for healthcare (like the EHIC) etc. Some of those agreements took years to negotiate. They'll need to be renegotiated. We are looking at 5-10 years of uncertainty until this all settles down and the future looks assured again.

TrappedNerve · 24/06/2016 07:09

Thank you Preggo :)

Beepie · 24/06/2016 07:25

It just all feels so unnecessary. Someone on FB just shared this which made me feel extra awful about it (although it's poll data right, not actual referendum data?)

I've never really felt that democracy "works" but that's always been more of a disproportionate representation thing. Now there's part of me which questions this stuff too - but then I wouldn't want to wipe other people's views out either.

I just feel sick really. Really fully sick.

I would LOVE to look back on this and feel like a drama queen btw. I'm just not sure that will happen. Again - I'm looking for reassurance here, not a "bash the opposition" thing.
