Any great ideas? I recycle them, but there must be something more exciting? Thanks.

paint them, drill holes in the bottom and grow plants in them?

When I was little everyone seemed to have stilts (like the ones you can buy which are plastic buckets with rope through them) made out of them.

My friend used to grow semperviviums in them.

they looked nice and neat all lined up in a row.

Take a large sheet of wood, and cut 8 milk-tin sized holes in it. Attach the tins to the back, paint faces on the sheet of wood so that the tins look like the open mouths and you have a great garden game. Throw balls into the mouths and score points for each. DCs loved this when they were little. Unfortunately it only uses 8 tins! We have a whole shelf in the garage of SMA tins containing screws, nails etc!

do you know anyone with older Dcs??

They make fantastic pots for storing toys in.

DS (4) has got several for storing marbles, small cars and various rocks, stones etc

Thanks for very fast answers! I'll have to try these ideas. Everytime I recycle the tins, I feel a bit guilty for not giving them a "second chance".

My daughter's preschool likes to have them for craft activities, gardening etc.

Can you offer them to a local preschool or SureStart centre?
