Separate spin dryer?

I am trying not to use the dryer so much this winter, eventually it would be nice to use it just in emergencies or not at all?

I have heard that if you spin washing in a separate super fast spinner that it takes a lot less time to dry?I was thinking I could do an evening spin, hang it over night and come downstairs to dry washing.

Please can anyone tell me if I am being hopelessly optimistic!?

Or would I be better off buying a dehumidifier instead (I can?t stretch to buying both at the moment) and leaving it on overnight to suck all my washing dry?

I will need a little bit of help form electrical gadgetry as I haven?t got the space to have clothes airers up all day and I don?t feel the cold that much so I don?t put the heating on often enough to dry everything (or I put it on out of desperation and end up walking round in a vest top in January!)which sort of goes against what I would like to achieve...

My washer does a 1400 spin. I hang inside and it dries over night! I think the important thing is to hang as high up as you can - I have hooks on the ceiling in the utility and it works.

My mum used to have a separate spinner, but I don't remember things being that much drier than in my washer.

we spin at 1400 and then have a dehumidifier for the winter - works well.

You can get separate spin-dryers with a 2800 spin - of course twice the speed doesn't automatically get out twice the water, but you'd think it would help...

I recently had to go back to my spin dryer till the repairman came out, and I do think things were drier, and dried faster. But they were also far more wrinkled, so took more ironing.
