Disposing of old toiletries?

You know, the ones that you've had in the cupboard for far too long that you're never going to use/finish

I don't want to put the contents down the sink, but also don't want to put the bottles in land fill.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

pass them on to a womens refuge

You can use most soapy things as mild cleaners on other surfaces, on shoes, clothes, counter tops, sink, car, whatever. So if you have gone off a shampoo you could still use it to wash your car.

Stuff like make-up may be hazardous to pass on, depends what you meant by 'toiletries', really.

I will look into the womens refuge, I also have some baby clothes that I'd be happy to give, that's a great idea.

It's mainly bottled things that I didn't get on with, or got bored of, I'll ask them what what they need.
