In these redundancy days i still want warmth.
Are the briquette machines any good, honestly.
Do i have to mix huge vats of soggy newspaper and are they best to use on an open fire or a woodburner.

We used them (waaaaay back in the 80s) and they were bloody useless. Having said that, the machines may have improved since then...

ditto reikizen. used a lot of paper, took weeks ages to dry, burned in 2 mins. twas also back in the 80's though.

The ones where you have to soak the paper are useless imho but i quite like the look of the logmaker, any one got one of those?

Essie3 · 29/01/2009 20:48

I had one - totally and untterly annoyed me. Really, really messy and the logs took forever to dry.
Hm, now where did mine go? If I find it I could sell it to you cheaply!

They are rubbish, don't fall for the hype. Take a trip to the local park instead!

Essie3 · 29/01/2009 20:57

I fell for it...
