eco-friendly cooker cleaning?

Hi, Has anyone got any good tips for cleaning a (rather grimy) cooker inside without using nasty chemical stuff? Or is it just a case of scrubbing hard...

1:1 borax and bicarb mixed to a fizzy paste with vinegar. Coat the inside of your cooker and leave it overnight. Then scrub!

Right! Where do I get borax? supermarket or diy shop?

my eco chart says hot water + soda crystals + washing up liquid

(I let the cleaner do it with her chemicals )

I use lemon juice diluted in water and sea salt for hardened on bits. Leave for around 1/2 an hour, turn oven on for 10 minutes before to soften any grime.

Every time I use the oven I give it a quick spritz as it's cooling down and a wipe, it really helps the grime to not bruild up.

Tesco sell borax in the household goods section. Of course then you feel guilty for shopping in tesco....

lakeland do somethig called 'oven mate' It's bio degradable, produces no smell or anything, you simply wipe it on, leave for a few hours then wipe it off again. It'll make your oven look like new.

Thanks everyone, a few things to try now (no exuse to put it off any longer...) and AFTER it is clean I WILL use TDWP's advice each time!
