Can you insulate a lean-to conservatory roof?

Either externally or internally?

I am open to unusual ideas

I don't need the extra light the roof lets in
I have fabric banners/blinds

I would like to replace with a solid roof but can't afford to so I am scrabbling round to find a cheaper alternative

We had a conservatory built for us last year. We used Allerton Windows and they were fantastic. And I recommend them to anyone I can. They're always keen to show potential customers their brilliant reviews so I'll just show them for you!

What a bizare thread just years off spam ,although tin food rarely goes out of date.

If you were referring to my comment, i didn't mean it to look like 'spam'. I'm genuinely recommending a company.

Is that not possible these days without looking like spam?

I'll remove the links if necessary...

No it's just the thread as a whole looks that way.

We had a company install insulation on the inside of our conservatory roof (it was some sort of insulation silver quilt). They then plastered the ceiling- looks like a normal painted ceiling now. We now tend to use it more than our main lounge as we have the nice views of the garden and its a much better temperature than it used to be. Overall very pleased and would recommend. They were from conservatoryroofinsulation.com

@VanillaMonday if you don't mind me asking- how much did that cost you? Just interested in a ball park figure! I know it would vary depending on size and difficulty etc. Thanks

VanillaMonday · 01/09/2017 13:40

@BowiesJumper I think it was about £1700, and ours is about 3 x 4m.

Thank you!
