I am about this far <holds up thumb and finger> from giving up composting altogether

I am so bloody sick of it

I am sick of mouldy teabags

and a corner of my garden that is always full of flies and woodlice

and yesterday I found that my indoor kitchen compost caddy had maggots in it [not a strong enough emoticon available]

plus the fact that I have been shovelling stuff into the thing for at least 2 years and the stuff at the bottom is still recognisable and NOT COMPOST AT ALL

I can put garden waste out for the council compost collection

tell me, how much damage can one family's carrot tops and shredded bank statements do to the planet?

no, no meat

veg stuff

coffee grounds

teabags

that's about it really for the kitchen

hi again I was wrong but I guess we only find maggots revolting because we associate them with rotting meat. just seen tha maggots were indoord, yuk. I keep my indoor stuff in a bowl/old piece of tupperware and empty every day or other day. but I only have a wormery (tiny garden) and it's all of 4 yards from the back door.

I should do it every day

but it is always pissing well raining and I don't fancy getting my raincoat and wellies on tramping through the soggy grass in the dark

I mean usually it is wine o'clock

im too lazy to turn my compost. i just keep filling them and buying more bins. we have 3 big wooden ones, a big plastic one like yours capp and a tumbler thingamy.
i did once get a decent batch out of the tumbler to be fair. but then it was infested with greenhouse whitefly (and next to the greenhouse at the time) so its been empty for a bit to let them die.

i have bokashi bins too. but im too lazy to do them too, and dp whinged loudly that he didnt like the smell. and the whingeing was more annoying than the chopping up small and tamping down faff.

we have a v small plastic bin, with the compostable liners in for the kitchen now.
