Anyone recommend the best out of these 2 slings? Have a good sling for when they are older but this one is for a new born. Thanks ) I'm not very patient about tying etc so the baba sling seems appealingly simple! But you never know...

had/have a babasling....ds LOVED it.....did feel he was a bit lost in there as a newborn but after 3 months he went everywhere in it. Also excellent for when they are older and can support themselves...my son is a giant and i stopped using it when he was one...but would fit any averge child till they were two and soooo much easier than a buggy! cant wait to have another baby to use it all over again!!!

I have the tricotti. I didn't find it so good for a newborn, but it was great for the ages 4-10 months when the baby can face outwards.

I have a baba sling, I didn't like it, I couldn't get DD comfortable in it. We have the coorie which worked better for us, though I still don't use it too often. You can have my baba sling if you want, its red though.

Bought the baba sling to take on holiday when dd was 14 mths - used in the hip carry position and found it invaluable - great for going up and down stairs and hands free (unlike the hippychick seat we had borrowed which made my arm ache). Will be trying it with a newborn later on in the year so will see how I get on

i loved my tricotti when dd was tiny, it was wonderful, she slept the minute she went into it, all curled up like newborns are supposed to be. however, i couldn't really recommend it if you'd need to wear it in summer as i found it quite hot. lovely, lovely for autumn/winter babes though.

we have a baba sling - really easy to use have used since newborn, dd is 6 months now and we still use it everyday

ooh thanks for all this... feeling totally overwhelmed by all the choices and I'm 39 weeks now! I guess it's really dependent on body type, weight of baby etc etc but don't want to waste money. If your Baba sling is really going spare Ambi I would love it but only if you are sure. I could give it a go and if I don't get on with it give it back. The coorie is one I was toying with too... arrggh - stop me before my head starts spinning around. ;o)

Sure mumeroo, not a problem, email me at [email protected], and I can send it out.

Mumeroo - once you've had your baby why dont you look to see if there's a slingmeet in your area? (my first link on mumsnet so hope it works!)

And if there isn't set up your own - I did and have been really surprised how well it went!

btw I fell in love with the coorie at my slingmeet and have now purchased one...

mumeroo · 22/07/2008 14:11

thanks Ambi and Eirlys - feel like this little one will be with us very soon so about time I finally sort this out ;o)

Just thought I'd bring this thread back for anyone looking for a sling - Babaslings are half price in TKMaxx. Still full price in Boots
