ASDA stopping handing out carrier bags as of Sunday!

Not sure if this is nationwide or not, but they are doing it in our our town.

Now all we have to do is persuade the manufacturers to cut down on packaging!

can't you just give them your bags first before you unload the trolly ? that's what I do

I tried that... but they don't seem to be able to manage it...
Or perhaps it is that I'm very precious about how my bags are packed

If I forget my bags, they're always in the car, so I just reload my shopping back into the trolley and then put it in the bags when I get to the car. Get a few funny looks sometimes - as if I am stealing a whole trolley's worth - so I have taken to keeping my receipt in my hand as I walk out.

It is a big lie- they are still giving them out without even asking if you need them. Just a publicity stunt imo.

does no-one else fins that milk leaks / goes everywhere (it may be on the outside of the carton) - that would be nice on your next week's shopping!
That said, I do reuse the other bags when I remember and use those for bin bags. I'm also amazed at the way you're handed a carrier bag for a single, tiny item, boots are particularly bad for this, and you have to be quick to say you don't want one or they whip it in before you notice!

i try to not use carrier bags. but am very forgetful. but am getting better.

i keep getting offered a bag when i buy a lip gloss, or an eye shadow. i say no thanks and give it back.

at the hospital the other week they put my pre-packaged sandwich in a bag. i took it out, and handed the bag back to them.
