Are Wet rooms space saving?

I am hoping to renovate our main bathroom including internal insulation of floor and walls.

Will having it built as wet room save space?

OH thinks if it is a wet room, it will be constantly wet so we won't be able to store linen in the linen cupboard which is in the bathroom.
However the shower will only be used by guests so I don't think that will be a problem, especially if we fit under floor heating.
Though I have heard underfloor heating is unethical.

What do you think?

I would stick with a standard shower, unless you actually need disabled access.

When we bought our house we had an abomination of a downstairs shower room.

It is quite small so converting it to a wet room worked very well

Yes, only in that you won’t use it, so may as well be a cupboard with a toilet, as everything will be wet

a proper wet room needs space so you don’t get wet loo roll and wet feet walking to the toilet

fit the largest shower cubicle you can

I've never seen a wet room with a linen cupboard. Or any sort of cupboard, as far as I can remember. It would be hard to waterproof the door sufficiently, I think.
