Food waste bin - I just can't face cleaning it... Anyone got advice?

As warm weather is coming..... my council food bin (tall one on wheels) has a layer of caked food at the bottom. I have to face it but would almost rather die.

How do other people tackle it?

I can imagine getting some of it out with a stick but then all I can imagine is myself vomiting for hours and calling some kind of trauma counselling helpline.

Would love advice from the Brave.

People will come round and pressure wash it for you and I think in this case it is money well spent. I don't think they charge much.
Then, tbh, I'd make sure all food waste was bagged in those permitted corn starch bags

Have you got a jet hose?

here's an example of a wholesaler's website ipanemagirl

If your council has switched to separate food and mixed dry recycling like ours has, you should be able to find these for sale in local supermarkets.

Or, in LB Greenwich for example, you can buy them far cheaper through the Council. Ours sells caddy and wheelie bin sized cornstarch or brown paper bags.

Thanks Marina I'll look into those!
