Can you not buy clear vinegar any more?

I was assured that I need white vinegar or clear vinegar to clean the limescale off my loo and for general household cleaning (windows, mirrors etc) but I can't find any to buy.

None in Costco.
None in Sainsburys.

Have I misunderstood?

Definately in Sainsburys, I got some only last week. But it is on the bottom shelf (ie on the floor), in clear bottles, with a dark red cap and a dark red label. Description on the label is 'Distilled Malt Vinegar'.
Comes in 500ml glass bottles (79p) or larger plastic bottles.

I get mine from Asda. Distilled I think too.

Kim and Aggie swear by it. I've got some and it brings me hob up something smashing. Missus. dead good for shower screens etc too

There have been lots of stories in the news that sales of white vinegar and borz and soda crystals etc are going through the roof.

Do you have Wilkos near you?... or is that just a regional store?

Sometimes tis near the spices and gravy granule type products. Or near the ketchups etc.

I once tried to order it online from Sainsburys and ended up with a very posh type - seemed a waste using it for nappies when it was intended for exotic salad dressings etc.

Well that's why Costco was my first choice - I want a blardy gurt bottle of the stuff. They only had the brown stuff though as far as I could see. With ketchups and mustards etc.

Actually, after scouring the condiments aisle in Costco for the 5th time I actually considered looking in the cleaning products aisle. True.

Seem to remember the Nappy Lady has a LINK TO SOMEWHERE YOU CAN GET INDUSTRIAL QUANTITIES OF THE STUFF. wILL TRY TO FIND A LINK. (oops sporry)

It is with the other vinegars, and table sauces. But as I said, on the floor almost, right at the bottom of the display.

You can use brown vinear too. I used it on my kettle and it worked perfectly although it did bubble up a lot. Cheaper too.

If you are cleaning your shower open all the windows in case of choking from the fumes ! the last time I did this my i stank of vinegar for hours as I couldnt bear to have a shower and spoil all my hard work !!!

Looked damned good though (the shower.... not me )
