FairTrade Fortnight - watch Black Gold!

It's the start of Fairtrade fortnight. I am already buying my fairtrade goods. If your not - watch Black Gold, a movie/documentary on More 4 tomorrow (26th) at 10. It's about the Ethiopian coffee industry - shocking stuff but you must watch. Lots of info about the coffee industry and the movie on the channel 4 website: blackgold.channel4.com/
Coffee workers in Ethiopia earn only £2.20 per week. Its does make you want to pay that little extra on fairtrade goods.

What do you think about Fairtrade coffee and other products?

I must have been on a different planet - I've not heard anything about Fairtrade Fortnight. I dont drink much coffee myself but him in doors does - I'm definately going to tune in - I think it's criminal the amount they get paid.

this film is actually really good, I've heard about it before and certainly want to watch it tonight. I think there is not enough awareness at all about fairtrade issues.

I try to buy fairtrade coffee, tea, bananas, orange juice, chocolates, etc and sometimes clothes too.

There are towns dotted around that are officially "Fairtrade Towns" - Fairtrade fortnight is really the marketing drive fortnight to publicise Fairtrade products and why they are important.

The Fairtrade Foundation has recently endorsed a lot of "ethically sourced" products from companies that have questionable ethical histories (Nestle)>

What do people make of that? Good, a start in the right direction or Bad, an opportunity for large corps to mask other more questionable practices?
