In theory the milk shouldn't have much residue in it from antibiotics, medicines or other chemicals. Because it's illegal in the EU to use those types of products as growth promoters.

Antibiotics are widely used as growth promoters and to increase milk production levels in other parts of the world, which does confuse people looking into the issue. Plus, bovine growth hormine may be regularly injected into dairy cows outside the EU. Antibiotics or other medicine in UK are only supposed to be given to dairy cows if there is a medical need. Plus the farmer may be required to toss the milk until the antibiotic course is over.

Plus, British dairy cows especially are fed on grass much of the year, which increases the amount of long chain fatty acids in the milk (read more). I still have big reservations about animal welfare issues where dairy production is concerned (the calf being taken away at 3 days old, whether it's organic or conventional production), but the milk itself is probably "ok".
