Had a look at this site www.plasticbagfree.com

they recommend a couple of sites, but one has wildly expensive string bags... £35 each ! anyone know of cheaper alternatives? they canvas totes are cheap, but a bit boring. i want to be ethical and funky

one site has been trying to load for 15 minutes..

any thoughts?

Used the Onya Weigh bags today at the supermarket - the checkout girl was intrigued. The Turtle Bags arrived today, a bit smaller than I expected but v nice. Dd2 has nabbed the black one, grr.

Just came across your discussion. I have just bought a brilliant pack of 8 reusable bags for supermarket shopping. It hangs on your trolley. Have a look at www.footprintbag.com. They are so cool!

www.morsbags.com/

Has anyone joined this? Its to make and give away (and use yourself) free reusable bags - they use old fabric

Wikaniko (We Can Eco) do some nice bags including 100% natural cotton washable string shopping bags with long handles. Ideal for putting over your shoulder! Get them at Wikaniko and also I just found out you can buy all their stuff at 45% off by joining with them at Join Wikaniko!
