I am loving period knickers lately

I though the idea of period knickers was a bit naff. I wasn't too keen on them but I decided to some some pairs of period knickers from primark lately. I love them. They have their uses especially right before a period or at the end of the period when the flow is much lighter but there's still some staining. I was due my period since Thursday but its a few days late. I was wearing period knickers since yesterday in anticipation for its arrival. I must buy more period knickers. I love them.

Me too! I've had the Modibodi ones for a while now and they are a total gamechanger. I tried a cup previously and didn't ever really get to grips with it. These pants are amazing - I actually look forward to my period so I get to wear them!

Are they any good for bladder leaks? I leak a little when running and want to find an alternative to pads

When I read the title of this thread I thought you meant period Knickers as in a historical period eg edwardian Knickers, and I was very intrigued.

This is...very different Grin

Recently invested in some Modibodi ones and agree they really are game changing. I was sceptical as I have very heavy periods. Got only 2 pairs to start with and first night I wore one to bed I slept on two towels as I was convinced I’d wake up to a bloodbath. Of course I didn’t and now I don’t know how I managed all that time with them. They’re so comfy!

I love them too. They are so comfortable and convenient, and great to wear at night. I actually look forward to wearing them too!

My only concern is what I’d do with them if I changed weight for example, or if they get damaged, or when I’m through the menopause. They’re made of polyester (I assume) and I’m not sure if I could put them in fabric recycling or not?! I wonder if they’re better for the environment than, say, Natracare cotton towels and pads which I could compost.
Any thoughts?

Me also - mine are from ASOS as I couldn't afford the Modibodi or Thinx ones.

I was a little sceptical given that they're 50% of the price but they're brilliant!

Yes, they work for both.

These are the ones I use - a three pack for £36

I'm currently pregnant and just recovered from COVID - every time I Coughed or sneezed (which was a LOT) I wee'd a little. I wore my period pants and it worked well. Although I don't think it would work with significant leakage.
Silverdorkinghen · 24/11/2021 23:08

@JumpLeadsForTwo - I’ve got the modibodi 24 hour ones and I use them for my period even really heavy days and also for running - they even coped when I slipped over and my weak pelvic floor hit the floor at speed! They do take a long time to dry as they can’t be tumble dried so I bought more to have enough for the whole length of my period but it’s not too bad this time of year as I finish them off drying on a radiator. They’ve been a life changer. I used to stop for wees all the time on long runs and now I just don’t need to. And I actually forget I’ve got my period sometimes as they just so comfy and soak everything up so well. They mould go your body better after a couple of washes so get more and more comfy.

JumpLeadsForTwo · 25/11/2021 10:52

Thanks for the recommendation @Silverdorkinghen

Hoesbeforebroes · 25/11/2021 10:56

I have Modibodi and tumble dry then on low, they are fine.

They're brilliant, I rarely use any other sanitary products these days.

petitdonkey · 25/11/2021 11:01

@Silverdorkinghen - I’ve had my modi bodi gor over a year and always tumble dry them, I’ve noticed no difference to absorbency. They are brilliant!

On another note if any of you have daughters/ I already had some for my eldest dd so when youngest dd started her period I just handed some over then gave cuddles. So much nicer than the alien feeling of using pads for the first time. My daughters barely use anything else (just the odd tampon when swimming).
