Budget eco recommendations

I was looking at switching to ecover dishwasher tabs the other day, only to find that Morrisons value dishwasher tabs already are oxygen bleach instead of chlorine bleach. I'm guessing they aren't as good as ecover but I'm not sure that justifies the difference in cost when you are on a budget.

The change to solid soaps is easily paying for itself, even with more expensive better soaps.

Soda crystals to clean.

Eco eggs for laundry!!!

Any other budget friendly switches people have found?

Cocowell (I think that's the name) do recyclable oral b compatible toothbrush heads. Holland and Barrett do them and I think you can buy direct too.

Ethique shampoo and conditioner bars are good. I have ordered some Lush ones to try too.

Coconut oil as a moisturizer is good value, I have a cheap jar from Aldi that's lasted ages so far.

I've never bought kitchen roll, I use cotton cloths (cut up old t shirts, bedding and knickers) and I keep paper serviettes I get when out or at a friend's for a meal.

Also, never liked toilet brushes so use my bath/shower water in an old washing up bottle to remove stains. V successful. Also I keep used shower water and flush the toilet with it.

Old takeaway cartons for sandwiches, cake etc. Reuse all tin foil that I get.

Friends know I will compost or use their unwanted or out of date food. And clothes.
Buy from charity shops on the whole clothing wise.

Look in skips for any wood or furniture you need. Use auctions for furniture, cheap and usually good quality

Oh and ask friends for any left over meat which I make into a stew for the dogs.
I get a chicken carcass at least once a week from neighbours. It's vile (I'm veggie, have never cooked meat) but less waste and the poor hen gets used entirely. My cats chew on the bones...
