i make my own cleaning stuff at home. that ecover stuff is too dear.

if you want to get even cleaner without chemicals, buy an Ecloth system from Lakeland and/or some microfibre clothes from Lidl.

dirt cheap and really gets stuff clean.

we moved into this house which belongs to a friend of mine's husband.

she's a clean freak and when we got here there was tons of crap like Flash and Cif.

i noticed the worktops in the kitchen were soooo sticky.

it was from build up of all that crap.

after just a month of not using them, the worktops are in good shape again and i've managed to shift all the old stains.

expatinscotland-just had a look at the ecloths-are they really good? Do you just use water or do you need to use something else as well? We live in a very hard water area and can't belive it'll work!?
and when you say a 'system' what do you mean?
if they are as good as you say i'll have to run to th shops!!!

I love e-cloths Sammysam...they are great. They are particularly good for glass. They pick up everything (even sticky weetabix - thats not on the windows I must add ) and everything really shines afterwards.

I also use Ecover products (toilet cleaner-I love the smell, multi-surface cleaner, cream cleaner, washing powder, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid). They all work well and I have managed to convine DH that they are OK too. He thinks the bath gets dirtier quicker after using them, but that tells me that the other products just leave a kind of protective film on them.

Soap nuts are great for the washing and they are quite cheap. They do clean well and if you want a nice fragrance then you can just drop some essential oil into the wash too.
