Disposables free period!

I’ve just come off my period and realised that I’ve managed to not use a single disposable pad/liner. Just my mooncup and cloth pads! Really heavy one too (tmi) so quite pleased 😁 I’m a bit new to ethical living so just goes to show what’s possible.

Yes, the moon cup is very practical. I only use the clothes pads at home though. I don't want to put a soiled one in my bag as I am afraid I might forget it is in there. I rarely use pads, but still.

I’ve just bought reusable cloth pads and also cloth nappies for the baby as I’m trying to reduce waste from the household. I have a fairly light flow so I’m hoping they will be a success. Given the amount of shit I clean up from the baby and toddler, cleaning pads and nappies doesn’t bother me too much.

I'm so excited that I've just had my first disposable-free period. I used resusable pads and was a bit worried about leaking but there was not a single stain in my knickers.

I bought a mooncup when I was about 20 but never really got on with it. I once managed to get a suction on it and then panicked and pulled - painful!

I bought some cloth pads last year and have used them intermittently. I bought some more this year (which I prefer) and did the whole period last week without a single disposable.

What disposable pads do you all use? My beloved mooncup is just too painful to use since having DD. ☹️
