Do I need to dig down at all, or just place straight onto soil at ground level. Thanks.

you can put it straight on the soil, i leaned on mine a bit so that it would sink in a little and not blow over when there wasn't much in it.

Thanks, can't wait to get it in the garden tomorrow and start feeding those worms!

Straight on soil.
They are fab.Watch out for the fruit flies when you take the lid off though.

You will find info on composting at www.allecogreenandbeautiful.co.uk

i combat fruit flies by saving grass cuttings and adding a later after i have added peelings and wet stuff.

I placed mine on branches and twigs to allow air to get into it. I also move the composter to a new place when i have emptied it and dig out the soil underneath it becaus the soil underneath the composter after a year is lovely and rich and worth digging out to dig into my veg patch, i refill the hole with soil taken from the veg patch.

Thanks for this info, one more question, if I'm putting carrots, apples, potatoes that sort of thing in the composter because they are well past their usefulness, should I cut them up or can I put them in whole? Thanks in advance.
