It's never right to wear tracksuits.

It's very, very wrong.

ludicrous- should be allowed only in gym/when exercising/when ill and not leaving the house

No.

Morally wrong.

Anyway you're wrong, if the little darling is falling behind, mum might have to join in the race and elbow all those other nasty kids out of the way to make sure her team wins.

As I do every sports day.

do they wear wristbands and have loudhailers to yell support to their kids?

Desiderata · 28/06/2007 13:13

Who remembers shell suits?

A question of ethics?

The wearing of track suits?

Am consulting Aristotle as we speak...

(What did Plato say about this?)

Well at our sports day the parents races are taken extremely seriously. My friend went out to her car to get changed for our class mum's race. The Headmaster commented that at least there were no running spikes this year...

Smithagain · 28/06/2007 21:53

Do they? Seriously?

My first sports day is coming up - do I need to get into training

Ladymuck · 28/06/2007 22:38

Lets say that some parents at our school are a little competitive! Last year the Head had to tell off some of the parents for booing the winner of one of the parents races...

motherinferior · 28/06/2007 22:41

No, they should take tinnies and lurk round the bike sheds sharing a spliff.

The majority of sports gear manufacturers are very unethical...

TooTicky · 28/06/2007 22:44

Apparently they dropped the parents' race at our school some years ago due to over-competitiveness and lycra.

Watching the other parents is the best bit of sports day.

motherinferior · 28/06/2007 22:52

Well, all the kids at DD1's school look as if they're having a very good time on their sports day, Aimsmum (I wasn't there. To be exact, the school is so non-competitive and chaotic I didn't even know it was happening). There is a fab photo of DD1 with an egg on a spoon on the school website.
