Vegetable bags

You know, the sort that you put loose veg in instead of those flimsy plastic bags.
I was just about to order some, when I realised they're made of polyester, which is a plastic. So, has anyone bought the cotton ones, or are those not particularly ethical either in some way?

Could you use biodegradable bags? I use compostable ones to line the kitchen caddy and for cat poo.

That's an idea! Thanks.

IKEA used to do a set of 5 cotton drawstring ones, which I loved and when I went to buy more they'd stopped selling them. Right when everyone seemed to finally get the message about single use plastics Hmm.

Sorry, I know that's not helpful! I know that some people have made their own out of cotton tea towels. It's no good for me though as I have zero sewing skills.

You can make some out of old tshirts really easily and its ethically sound as long as youre using old worn tshirts and upcyclibg not buying new ones

Those string bags work well, as long as they are natural. And you could knit them...
