Dishwasher powder recommendations

I'd prefer tablets rather than loose powder, but am willing to consider loose. Don't want to get into having to add salt etc though.

I don't like the Splosh one, it cleans well enough but leaves everything a bit gritty.

I use Ecover basic and it's fine, however, I've never got good results without adding salt (hard water area) and rinse aid, whatever I've used. I think all-in-ones are pretty rubbish. The 'salt' is going to react with chemicals in your water and detergent to neutralise your waste water. This is a bit of an educated guess and I'm ready to stand corrected, but it's probably actually better environmentally to use it.

Interesting. I'm in a soft water area, and all in ones generally work a treat, but I'm trying to support more eco companies. Will check out the Ecover ones.

The tablets have rinse aid and salt. When we lived in a soft water area, the tablets were fine. Now, where the water is very hard, salt is a must.

When using powder, we have to use rinse aid as well. Like we did in the olden days.

The Wilko eco ones worked well for me. They're pretty cheap, have no plastic wrapping and come in a cardboard box.

I just use Ecover. The water here is hard and they work fine. I've never thought about trying anything else.
