I am looking to buy beeswax food wraps.
And bags to buy veg in, from supermarkets.

Please does anyone have any recommendations for UK sites?
eBay or amazon recommendations?

I use www.beeswaxwraps.co.uk.

Good quality and made by a small business in Gloucester. They came in plastic-free packaging as well, with a very sweet handwritten note, thanking me for being a customer.

Net curtains are great for making veg bags out of. Loads of charity shops have net curtains and making a draw string bag is easy. There are online tutorials for making beeswax wraps, it easy apparently. I just use a plate over a bowl in the fridge or tupperwear for leftovers. Buying them sort of misses the point a bit.

I found them easy to make and cheap. I used fat quarters either that size or cut down. I used beeswax bits I bought off Amazon pretty cheap as well as bits of beeswax saved from candles. I put a layer of foil on an oven tray, stretched out the fabric on top of it, scattered the beeswax on that and let it melt in the oven for a few mins. For the larger pieces I dedicated an old saucepan to the job, melted beeswax in it and dipped in the fabric to cover. It cooled and dried in moments. It's ace.

Goodness I don't think I could make either. I'm not very arty or crafty.

I bought a pack of abeego wraps last Christmas & they've lasted us pretty much a year. They are starting to feel a bit tatty now but still usable & have some 'stick' left. I bought some soy ones this year (stocking filler for DH) & will see how they compare... it's made a big difference to reduce our use of cling film so am happy with them

I've just ordered some veg bags from Boobalou.co.uk
They look good, and reasonably priced.

I use beeswax wraps and love them. I would never use soy wax ones though. Soy wax is not certified as food safe and 99% of soy wax available in the UK is from American gmo crops of which 93% is not certified as sustainable. Don't be fooled by the name eco soy, because that's all it is, a name made up by very clever marketing people.

Beeswax wraps are FAB apart from you can’t see WHAT you be wrapped in them...is that cheese or cold potato? But apart from that they are very lovely, easy to use, easy to clean.
