Where do we start? What else can we do?

I try to buy organic and cut down on packaging by going to local markets (mens food is more seasonal too) and stores that sell loose produce

Heating down a few degrees

Walk to work and take food from home in reusable containers (and my coffee cup too)

Cut down on buying new clothes - more quality than quantity

Only buy flowers from the local farmers market than flown halfway around the world

Use 'green' cleaning/washing liquids and stopped buying all forms of wet wipes/cleaners

Use organic soap, shampoo, deodorant

There's only one meat eater here but I buy organic and have cut down (too much red meat is unhealthy) the amount we buy

I haven't managed to switch to organic booze though!

Electric/hybrid car?
Don't use a dishwasher/tumble dryer?
don't buy plastic bags
Refuse straws if you eat out
Don't buy clothes made of synthetics
Buy British.
Eat veg and fruit in season.

Car still quite new and we are in flats so no handy charging points

Don't have a tumble drier but do have a dishwasher (maybe cut down)

Always take my shoppers and never use plastic straws

We try to buy at the farmers market or organic and I've even forgone my lovely foreign flowers as the airmiles can be eye-watering for just flowers. I grow pot plants instead (from cuttings or seed where I can).

If you have a dishwasher, you may be better off using it if it means using less water than washing up by hand. If there are more than four of you, that could be the case. There are four of us now, and I reckon, one less and I could easily do without a dishwasher and tumble dryer. As it is, they're useful, but I do wash up in a bowl if it's just the two of us for a day or two, and I line dry as much as I can.

Local and seasonal probably beat organic.
