What shall I do with these jeans?

I have a pair of jeans which I reckon have one more wash in them before the thigh chub rub zone gives out completely. What should I do with them?

Too holey for the charity shop, not the right fabric for cloths and I don’t want to patch them.

See if your local charity shop accepts rags. Our local one does because they can sell it to a rag merchant.

Shorts. Convert to a skirt (v. easy). Cushion cover. Keep legs for patching future jeans.

Shorts I’m afraid is a no-go, they’re disintegrating where the legs meet the crotch seam.

I’m going to investigate the rag option.

I don’t have a compost bin, and the council, who are very eagle-eyed at examining the contents of biodegradable wheelie bin, only allow food, garden waste and shredded paper.

Only just discovered the ethical living section, and I like it!

Do you know anyone who sews or quilts? I love worn out jeans, I cut them up and make picnic rugs and blankets or cushion covers :) you might be able to pass them along to a local craft group?

OP I have a pair of jeans in a similar state. I'm about to cut one leg off and stuff it with some old raggedy clothes (mainly holey t-shirts) and make a draught excluder.

Oh dear, no. Sad I am so old, I saw them broadcast on television first time round, haven't seen them since- might have missed that episode. Am definitely putting Father Ted on my Christmas list!

My easily-confused cat would almost certainly think I'd provided him with a new deluxe (if slightly oddly-shaped) toilet if I did that. I'll stick with the holey t-shirts!
