Going plastic free and looking for good recipes to make my own shampoo for all the family. The simpler the better!

I want to live Lush as I find it's that they're he only ones that work but I can't do it due to their politics - I found out about it on MN and I just can't support them, so I vote with my wallet and have bought elsewhere and found the waxy residue can be helped by rinsing with diluted vinegar or diluted lemon juice. It sort of works so every third wash I'm using normal shampoo, for the first time in 6 months so I have saved on lots of plastic in the meantime but want to find something like lush bars but without the weird politics and the price!

I had some success washing my hair with gram flour (chickpea flour - comes in paper bags where I buy it) and a vinegar rinse, but it’s a faff so I go in and out of it. My compromise is just to leave my hair as long as possible (4-5 days) and use a tiny amount of shampoo so a bottle lasts a long time.

I stretch it using homemade dry shampoo, which I love as it gives my fine hair some volume too. I think it’s mostly cornflour and cocoa powder but I’ll try to find a link.

I buy mine from a company called bubble blocks on eBay. Cheap and really good. The guy makes them himself. I can't be bothered so cuts all the faff out for me!
